Swimming and snorkeling with seals in Cape Town is nothing short of being the most magical experience you’ll ever have in your life. Seals are wondrous creatures that are gentle and friendly. So if you haven’t booked your seal snorkeling adventure yet, you better do it now if you don’t want to lose out on a once in a lifetime experience.
Now that you’re booked and ready to go, here are some tips to make your experience even better.
- Dress for the occasion
Like with anything else, it’s vital to dress the part. Ideally, you’ll want to wear beachwear – costume, towel and sunscreen. Also, you might want to bring dry clothes for afterwards. The snorkel gear (mask, wetsuit, snorkel, gloves and booties) is included and will be handed out before the excursion commence.
- Hire a GoPro
While a GoPro might not actually enhance the experience, it will allow you to relive it as many times as you like. A mere R300 will enable you to capture the most incredible memories.
- Take motion sickness tablets if you’re prone to motion sickness
Typically, the excursion is weather dependent which means if the wind is extreme, the session will be postponed. That doesn’t mean, however, that the water might not be a little choppy. If you tend to suffer from motion sickness, make sure you take a tablet beforehand.
- Don’t be scared
As we’ve mentioned before, seals are lovely. They’re gentle and friendly so you have nothing to worry about. Also, the waters are way too cold for sharks so we have yet to encounter one on our seal snorkeling trips.
We want you to have the time of your life which is why we’re sharing these tips with you. For more information about swimming with seals in Cape Town or to book your trip, get in touch with the team today!
